In Defense of Blackendale
The long, downtrodden continent of Itevia rests away from the other continents on Sindall, giving it a form of independence unknown to citizens of other continents. That isn’t to say the country is well off, or that any of it’s peoples even know the names of other continents, for that matter.
Towns and villages outside of Itevia’s capital of Celesthem are largely dying, and have been over the past series of years. Large plagues and sickness wipe out the citizenry, and a thick, magical phenomenon simply called ‘The Fog’ reanimates the newly dead to kill their former friends. Over the past centuries both arcane and divine magic has begun dying in the world, with less and less people capable of casting magic born every year. That isn’t to say the beast races have lost their shamanistic styles of magic, which makes even the weakest goblin tribe a danger.
Itevia’s geography isn’t particularly diverse, with it’s forested continent separated by mountains in the mid-south. The Ash Forest – created by the large deposit of Blackstone in the region – is, likely, the most different environment in regards to foliage – or lack thereof.
